Home Season, Spring 2008Since opening its doors in 1996, Sandglass has been host to many guest artists and several special series of performances. Local musicians, national puppet theaters, and ensemble theater artists have graced our Putney stage. Sandglass Theater presents the Third edition of its bold series: VOICES OF COMMUNITY : Theater as Social Activism Acclaimed world class performers, from diverse geographical and cultural backgrounds, will bring their unique talents to Vermont for four exciting weekends this Spring. Performances include Khouragi/Foreigner, Weights, Living Memory/Living Absence, and Don't Start Me to Talking or I'll Tell You Everything I Know. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RICHARD 3.5 - Light Ruminations on Murder Created & performed by Eric Bass & Bob Berky June 13-14 and June 20-21 at 8pm Eric Bass and guest artist Bob Berky perform Richard 3.5. They showcased a work-in-progress a year ago at Sandglass. Now the finished production returns to Putney. This two-man ragtime cabaret version of Shakespeare’s famous tale of power-driven murder is a dark comedy that pulls out all the stops and blends Shakespeare with puppets, physical comedy, and contemporary political relevancy.
